“Here we go, Steelers, here we go!” Pre-kickoff, after scores, and momentum swings. Simple call, full-bowl response.
Third-down roar Towels up, volume spikes just before the snap to rattle the offence.
Songs that shake the stands
“Renegade” – Styx Lights down and montage, usually late third or early fourth to juice a defensive stand.
“Here We Go” – Steelers fight song Roger Wood’s 1994 anthem, lyrics refreshed in playoff years.
“Black and Yellow” – Wiz Khalifa Pittsburgh pride, heard around game day and in the city.
Where it all began
1975 – The Terrible Towel Myron Cope’s rally prop that became a charity engine for AVS (now Merakey AVS).
2001–02 – “Renegade” takes root Tried during timeouts, cemented in the 2002 Browns playoff comeback.
Logo lore The Steelmark (AISI) sits on one side of the helmet only – unique in the NFL.
